Hayden and Lily

Whenever Lily is in her crib and is awake, Hayden wants to climb in there with her. I asked him the other day why he does that and he told me it's because she needs him.

In the last picture Lily was starting to fuss about something and he reached over to give her a hug. He's such a good big brother too.

1 Year Old

Look who turned 1 year old on March 14!!!

This last month has been a big month for the little girl. She's changing and getting more mobile which means she's getting into EVERYTHING.

Here's information about her at the moment:

- Going through a big growth spurt. Already outgrowing her 12 months clothes and starting to wear 18 months. Currently weights 21 lbs. 4 oz. and is in the 52% percentile. She's 30 1/4" tall and is in the 82% percentile.

- Wearing size 4 diapers.

- Drinking more from her sippy cup than the bottle.

- Wanting to take a bite of everything that you're eating. She's eating more and more table food. Loves strawberry Nutri-grain bars.

- This month 3 teeth on the top have came in. Has a total of 5 teeth.

- Starting to pull up to stand while against the furniture. She will now stand on her tippy toes to reach something. Also, will let go and keep her balance for a short bit before falling over.

- She speed crawls. Her little knees are red and dry. At each diaper change I put lotion on her knees.

- Her hair is getting longer, especially in the back. It has a few soft little curls. I can now put a clip bow on the side of her hair.

- Loves to dance and wiggle when she hears music. Loves the Patty Cake song and Itsy Bitsy Spider.

- Showing an interest in books.

- Now riding in a big girl car-seat but still facing the rear.

- Wearing a size 3 shoe.

- Whenever she sees Fritz, our dog, she chases him and then will bark like a dog.

- When she gets upset she will cover her eyes and yell.

- Hayden and Lily now have little moments where they get into it. He doesn't like her touching his stuff. She goes right for his things everytime.

- Likes to give us love by patting our shoulders or kissing our cheeks.

- She's still a cuddle bug and I hope this continues for a long time.

Busy Bee

Ok...I know, no pictures.

It's hard to take a picture of a little girl who's on the move non-stop. The latest thing is to pull up on the furniture and stand. When I see her do it I run off to get the camera and by the time I come back, she's back down again or crawled off to something else. I kept it by me this morning for a good hour and she kept looking at me but didn't do it anymore. When I went to put my camera up and walked back into the living room, she was up again at the sofa.

Also, several times a day I have to rub lotion on her little knees. She crawls so fast her little knees are red and now a little dry. We've got one champion speed crawler on our hands.

Closing Day

Tomorrow, it's official...we will be closing on both houses!!!

Everyone couldn't get it all done by the original closing date as everything got delayed due the ice storm at the beginning of the month. It took a bit for the inspectors to arrive and then we had to hire an electrician to come and take care of some electrical to get it up the the current code on our old house.

We close on our old house at 3:30 pm and then close on our new house at 4:30 pm. It's going to be one busy afternoon!!!

It's been nice as we've already been living in our new home for the past 1 1/2 weeks as we just had an addendum written that allowed us to move in plus transferred the utilities into our name. I love being here and I love having the room for us all to spread out.

Moving

I'm glad to see that the kids haven't been too disturbed by the moving that's taken place the last week.

11 Months Old

As you can tell, this little 11 month old is getting into EVERYTHING!!!

I can't believe that this is my last post before the big 1 year mark. Where has the time gone? Last year at this time I was already off on maternity leave and anxiously awaiting her arrival. I was so excited and couldn't wait to meet my little girl. We finally decided to name her Lily Helene and it just seemed to fit her even before I met her. I would say her name and she would wiggle and kick inside me...almost giving her approval of her sweet name.

Here's the latest on Lily:

- Crawling at lightening speed.

- Getting into everything .

- I have to vacuum daily as she will see a teeny tiny speck of something and it will immediately go into her mouth.

- Starting to pull up on things. She will get up on her knees and bounce. At times she will put one foot on the ground trying to push herself up.

- If something makes her unhappy she will cover her eyes with her hands and cry. If sitting on the floor she will bend at the waist and put her forehead on the ground but she'll peek at you too to see if you're watching.

- Eating more table food and wants a bite of anything that you have.

- Wearing 12 month clothes.

- Still wearing size 3 diapers.

- Her feet are growing and all little size 2 shoes are too small now.

- Her hair is growing too. In the back it's getting longer and when wet it's got a little curl to it.

- Doesn't like the sippy cup so we're back to bottles for the moment. I need to try some different ones to see which is going to work for her.

- Says mum-mum (mommy), daaaaa-deee or daaaa (daddy), illlllll (Will), ba (ball) and doooo, which we think is for dog. Poor little Hayden doesn't have a sound for him yet.

- Loves to pet our dog Fritz and will squeal and shriek with excitement.

- Loves to play patty-cake

- Anytime she hears music she bounces and dances or claps her hands

- A champion bathtub water splasher

- Gives all 4 of us slobbery kisses on the cheek. (Hayden hates it though and claims she spits on him every time...hee-hee)

- A top tooth is now poking through. When she smiles you can see it now and it appears that another is coming through soon. She has a grand total of 2 1/2 teeth.
