Baby Bedding

After much thought we decided to go ahead and splurge and got the baby some new bedding. It was a little pricey but it's SO nice. This was one of the softest baby bedding sets that I have ever felt. She's going to look so cute in all this. You can't really tell by the picture but the main color theme is apple green and pink.

Like or Dislike

Will is playing the viola and is really enjoying it. A nightly ritual has become for me to listen to him play for 1/2 hour every night. It's been nice hearing the progression since school started in August. He's using the bow now and doing songs that you can recognize the tune.

Tonight the baby went a little wild in here listening too. I felt kicks around my belly button and then down low. This has gone on the entire time that he's been practicing. Either she loves it and is dancing in there or she doesn't like it at all. I sure got a wiggly one in here!!

Croptoberfest

I just got back home from Croptoberfest. I had such a good time. It was a beautiful fall day spent with good friends. I love this time of year. The trees turning and the coolness in the air......fabulous.

I got a lot done. I finished all pages on our vacation album from out trip to Florida this summer. I need to add the pages into the album and do my journaling and it's completely done. I showed Anders and Will and they loved the pages. I'm so fortunate that Anders likes my scrapbooking and actually understands why it brings so much joy to me. I think he got it once I made the anniversary album for him this year. Plus it's such a stress relief for me. I've always loved crafts and the allure of paper. I even like the smell of fresh paper. Ok...maybe wierd but I like it. I sure hope my little girl will like it too.

The idea of having a little girl is starting to sink in. I thought her name was going to be Lily but now Anders is having second thoughts. He also likes Addison and Audrey. That's the top three. We've still got plenty of time to decide. I think I'm going to go get her a little "my first babydoll". I want one with a very soft body and little, so she can cuddle with it. I want to be the one to get it for her. I'm glad I still have my baby doll and my Barbies. I never thought I would get to play with them again with my own daughter.

It's A Healthy...

We're having a healthy baby girl!! After having two sweet boys, we're having a girl. I'm in shock actually as I really thought it would be another boy, which isn't a bad thing at all as my boys are great. But a girl....wow!! I got a shopping partner and someone to scrapbook and do crafts with. We went tonight and bought some pink things. This is going to be so much fun.

It's Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I've posted...we've been so busy. One good positive thing is I'm finally over the morning sickness. I no longer feel nausea and haven't been sick for two weeks. I'm so glad it's gone. At night I'm still very tired and can't wait to fall into bed but I'm hungry and actually getting a baby belly now. We find out on October 22 if this little one is a girl or boy. I'm so glad to feel like a human again. I'm starting to really enjoy my pregnancy.

We got the results back from the Perinatologist and it's very good. Here's some of the report that was sent to us:

Based upon your age, the chance that your baby will have Down Syndrome is 1 in 190. The chance that your baby will have any chromosome abnormality is 1 in 123. This means that there is still over a 99% chance that your baby will not have a chromosome abnormality.

By taking the screening test we combined a blood test, an ultrasound and maternal age to determine your risk factor. The ultrasound, performed during your visit, measured the amount of fluid accumulated behind the baby's neck. The blood test measured the amounts of PAPP-A and hCG. The Down Syndrome risk figure that was estimated for you on the basis of the screening test is 1 in 3,900 and the Trisomy 18 risk figure was estimated to be less than 1 in 10,000. Although this does not eliminate the possibility of Down Syndrome or Trisomy 18, it makes the possibility of them far less likely.

They've asked me to come back again for another ultrasound at 20 weeks to scan for any potential birth defects which I did agree to do. I will do the screening for Gestational Diabetes but that's it. I think testing is good but sometimes it can be overdone and provide much stress and worry to mothers. So far, this baby seems to be very healthy and doing fine.
