New Beginning

The sign is now out in front of house, so it's official. We're going to be moving!!

Hopefully, our house will sell quickly. The market analysis in our neighborhood showed this year that the quickest one sold was 13 days and the longest was 168 days. With ours being in very good shape and updated, I hope it will be one of the homes that sells quick.

Anyone in the market for a cute little starter home??

Go Away Germs

What a weekend!! A virus bug hit the Jensen household and decided it wasn't going to leave until every person was sick.

It's first victim was Will. I knew something was wrong when he didn't feel like eating. He was sick for a good two days. Then it hit Lily and she was sick but not horrible sick. Poor Hayden was miserable. He carried his bucket around everywhere worried he was going to get sick again. Then it attacked Anders on Saturday. I got it late last night.

It's horrible and at one point I just decided I'd lay on the bathroom floor for a few hours. At least it was cool and I wouldn't have to move too far when it hit again.

Lysol can and Clorox wipes are out on the counter and hopefully we're all coming around again.

Sold!!

We did it!! We made the verbal offer on Monday and everything that we wanted and then some was agreed to, so we signed the agreement to purchase the house and gave our check with the earnest money to buy.

We've already been pre-approved for the mortgage so we need to call on Monday to tell them to proceed with everything.

The way it looks we will be in the new house by Monday, February 23. This should give use enough time to get our house sold and for him to finish the retaining wall and leveling out the back yard.

On Monday the realtor will be at our house to have it listed and put on the market. He already has two good leads of people wanting to purchase homes in our neighborhood.

I'm still nervous, excited and anxious over all of this. Now if we can get this house sold in a timely manner, all will be great!!

House

We've put in a verbal offer and on Friday we will be discussing everything with the realtor. He owns the house so we don't have to go through a middle person when discussing everything and then waiting.

There's some things that we need to discuss. Mainly the back yard as it slopes. We need a decent back yard for the little ones. Playing and being outside is a favorite activity in our family.

We looked at this house this fall and we decided against it due to the back yard. When we looked at it again this weekend we told him that was the only thing holding us back. He said he would be willing to get in a retaining wall and do landscaping in the back to make it work for us.

This house is large and everything inside has been updated. Brand new kitchen, flooring and paint. It's move in ready. All that we would need to purchase is a refrigerator and that's it.

We also need to take into account that we need to sell our house too. The housing market isn't the best at the moment and we don't want to be stuck with two mortgages.

I'm nervous, excited and scared!! I hope it will all work out. If not, then that's ok too. Another one will come along in time that would work for us.

We shall see...

House Hunting

Since the interest rate is the lowest it's been in 37 years on mortgages, we've been casually looking at homes the past few weeks.

We've found one that we like. Of course there's pros and cons to every home, this one has more pros. This might work!!

178/132

This number as my blood pressure caused me to no longer be the employee but a patient in the Emergency Room last night.

I wasn't feeling too good and asked one of the nurses to check my blood pressure just to see what it was and then all heck broke out over the number. After the first check we waited another 30 minutes and checked it again and it was still very high. The ER charge nurse even came over to talk to me about it and convinced me to register in as a patient.

Needless to say it ended up with me being in a room most of the night and getting to leave at 4:30 am. Something isn't right and hopefully I'll be feeling better again soon.

Mommy...read my bib!!

Let's eat mommy. Be sure and read my bib, ok? Remember, I don't like squash!! If I detect any squash, I'm calling Hayden for help.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what this is. I like it but I think there might be some vegetables in there. Are you trying to sneak something in my mouth?

Hey, wait a minute!! What is Hayden eating? That looks good.

Eat your food Lily. This isn't chocolate pudding...I repeat, this isn't chocolate pudding. It just looks like it. Hee-Hee!!

Guess Who?

Guess who this is? It's me.

This is my newborn baby picture from December 13, 1970...38 years ago. My mom sent this to me the other day. I think I look like I've got a little smile going on. When I look at this, I see a bit of Lily.

9 Months Old

Little Miss Lily Helene Jensen turned 9 months old yesterday. Where is the time going? I remember last December she was inside me growing, kicking and moving all over. She's still doing the same thing but now on the outside.

Here's some information about her:

- She's finally got teeth coming in. Two down on the bottom.

- She's trying to crawl. She'll go from sitting up to down on her belly but once there she's not sure what to do next.

- Has giggle fits and will squeal and laugh hysterically. You can't help but crack up yourself when she does this. She loves to watch Hayden and Will dance to 70's disco music. (Oh don't ask about this...those two are a mess!!)

- Having some trouble sleeping. She will get too tired and then she can't fall asleep which results in one fussy baby girl.

- Loves to eat. She wants a bite of everything that you're eating.

- Likes to play with toys and everything gets put in her mouth and licked.

- Starting to wave bye-bye.

- Likes to smack her lips together.

- Claps and waves her arms around when you sing "Patty-Cake" to her.

- She's a mommy's girl.

- Has some anxiety when meeting strangers or someone she hasn't seen in awhile. She'll cry and reach for me and then hide her face in my arm or chest.

- Likes to stand up and lean up against something.

- Loves to watch Hayden play with his trains. She just watches with fascination while they go along the track.

- Starting to go into a size 3 shoes.

- Still wearing 9 month clothes.

- Her hair is growing and it's now touching the top of her ears and getting thicker in the back.

- When sitting in your lap she likes to stand up and "talk" to you and gives kisses.

- Doesn't like to get her mouth wiped off at all!!

- Likes to look at books.

Sick

Guess who has a fever and a double ear infection along with other head crud?? Any of the three little ones?? Nope, it's the mommy.

Yeterday at work I kept feeling dizzy and this morning it was horrible. Enough that I lost my balance getting into the shower. I asked Anders to take me to the Convenient Care Center or even the ER as I needed to see a doctor. The doctor confirmed that it was my ears, especially the right one. At least this explains why I was so dizzy and sick to my stomach.

Now with some good medicine, vaporizer and fluids I should be back to myself soon. Until then...ugg and goodnight!!

Build-A-Bear

Look at what's new a Build-A-Bear...Hello Kitty!! Isn't she cute?

Back this summer I got Sun-Kissed Hello Kitty. This one is the regular Hello Kitty and on Monday she's going to be part of our family. For Lily, of course. (ha-ha)

I've got to go to the mall to pick up family pictures from JC Penneys so we're going to head down to Build-A-Bear to visit and bring her home.

I like Hello Kitty but over many years I've been a "closet fan." I have the stuffed animal I got this summer, on the cover of the little note pad in my purse is Hello Kitty and I have a screen saver which I don't use but have the file saved. I would love to have the Hello Kitty font and greeting cartridge that was just released by Cricut.

Baby Body

I'm sure Lily is going to just love that I took pictures of her legs and thighs. Hmmmm...probably not but at this age they have the cutest legs. So pudgy and the little knees.

Hayden lost his "baby knees" this summer. The was the last part of him that transferred over from being a toddler to being a little boy. (Along with mastering the potty this summer...still happy about that one!!!)

Since it's so cold now, I've got her little slippers on during the day. They've got yellow ducks on the top and she's also wearing a t-shirt under her outfits. I got to keep the little girl warm and toasty.

Blog Changes

I made some changes to my blog. I thought it was looking a little boring. So what do you think??

Sleeping Baby

I just love sleeping babies. With all three of the kids, I could watch them sleeping forever. So cute and innocent plus when they get to be toddlers, so quiet and still.

Look at those lips, cheeks and little arms. Oh my...how adorable!! When the clicking of my camera made her stir, you can see that her hair is starting to come in now. It takes her awhile to always wake up. She'll stretch, grunt and flop around with her eyes closed for a good 10 minutes.

She and I went back to bed on this morning while the boys were up with daddy. We like to snuggle just a little more in the morning after breakfast. I'd say about 50% of the time we fall back asleep for a bit.

Aaaaahhhh!! I just love babies, especially when they belong to you.

Will's Girlfriend

She may have just a little bit of hair, wears a diaper, drools and has only two partial teeth in her head but this is Will's favorite girl.

She squeals, giggles and reaches for Will whenever he comes around. Any attention he gives her, she just soaks it all up and flashes him the biggest grin. He just loves this too. Everyday when he comes home from school, he goes to see her and gives her a kiss and hug.

Hayden gets jealous if he plays with Lily too much. He will come to me complaining that Will belongs to him and he needs to put "Billy gurl" down.

This little girl isn't going to be giving up her spot as his favorite girl very easily. Watch out girls, you've got to get through Lily first.

Wonder Pets

In the morning I let Hayden watch a bit of tv. Usually we watch the Disney channel and see Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse, and Tigger Pooh. Here lately we've flipped the channel and begun to watch Nick Jr.

On Nick Jr. they have Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer and Wonder Pets.

I love the Wonder Pets. They're so adorable. They use the animation style of photo-puppetry which manipulates photos of real animals. The three animals are elementary classroom pets who rescue baby animals by using teamwork. Ming-Ming is the duck, Lenny is the guinea pig and Tuck is the turtle. Ming-Ming is my favorite. I think it's cute when she says "this is swerious."

Once you hear the theme song it's in your head all day long. Which is a good and bad thing. This is one new show that I really like. I guess I'm not the only one who likes this show as it won an Emmy this year.

Billy Gurl No Like Squash

Lily doesn't like squash. I've tried to feed it to her several times and she gags and just doesn't like it so I'm not going to give it to her anymore.

This morning I was feeding Lily and Hayden was sitting at the table coloring on paper. Lily was waving her arms around and coughed. The conversation then went like this:

Hayden: Mommy, Billy gurl (Lily girl) no like squash.

Me: I know...this isn't squash.

Hayden: Mommy, Billy gurl say squash icky!!

Me: Yep, she's not eating squash.

He then hops down and grabs the baby food jar and looks at the label.

Hayden: Is this squash?

Me: No, Hayden. It's apples.

His little eyes look at the label real close and then he points to the apple.

Me: Yes, that's the apple. That is what's inside of the jar.

He then walks over to Lily and says.

Hayden: It not squash Billy...you ok.

I believe he was looking out for his baby sister. He's not going to let anyone sneak a spoonful of squash in her mouth!! I was laughing so hard my side hurt. I just love that little guy.

What's That in Her Mouth??

I can barely see it but I can feel it. Also, it's not just one little tooth but two teeth!!

She was chewing on my finger yesterday and it wasn't there but it's there today. Two little jagged tips barely poking through the gum. Her gums are darker pink and look a little swollen. No wonder she's been a bit fussy the past few days.

I'm so happy for her but then a little sad too...my girl is getting bigger and she's the last baby I'll ever have. This is a milestone moment.

Beautiful Books

I ordered these two books off of Amazon.com. The author of both books is Susan B. Anderson. These are the most beautiful books I've seen in awhile. Lovely baby/toddler hats and other projects.

There's a sweater that's breathtaking and it's accented with silk ribbon. It also has a matching hat. You can see a bit of it on the cover of the "Itty Bitty Nursery" book.

My first thought was this was going to be too hard. I was surprised when I was reading the books last night to read that it's for a beginner. It's made with a simple stockinette stitch. The thought of actually knitting a sweater for my sweet baby girl made me so happy I almost couldn't fall asleep thinking of how I would create this.

I'm sure learning to knit would be easier if I had someone who could help me. A kind lady at the craft store commented on Lily's hat and sweater from Gymboree and in talking to her she told me about a knitting store here in Evansville on the East side. I'm going to go check this out this week. I also get to see my Aunts this week and I'm going to ask for help from them too.

It's frustrating at times and I get a bit discouraged but I can master this. I have the drive to get this figured out....especially the circular needles and knitting with the small ones.

I'm really determined since I saw that sweater :-)

Kitchen Fun

Here's what it's like with me and my boys. I have two who like to help me out in the kitchen.

Of course, I'm the one in the apron and Will is the one already putting the food in his mouth...remember he's a bottomless pit at the moment. Hayden is the one checking it all out, he's still learning how all this works.

8 Months Old

On Friday 11/14 Lily turned 8 months old. Time is passing too quickly. She's just the sweetest little girl and we're all so happy to have her in our family.

Here's things about her at the moment:

- Still has tiny feet. She's wearing a size 2 shoe.

- Wearing 9 months clothes.

- Her hair is getting a little longer. Little strands are now covering the tops of her ears. The little "flip" on top is still there and getting longer.

- We believe her eyes are going to remain hazel grey. They're definitely not brown and in some light appear blue but then other times a medium grey shade.

- Sitting in her highchair for all meals. She loves Gerber Puffs and wants to take a bite of everything that we eat.

- Totally dislikes squash and green beans!! She will actually shudder and almost gag when I try to feed these to her. I've decided not to try anymore.

- Loves to eat the jars of fruit. Apples, peaches, bananas are yummy!! Eats a big bowl of cereal with fruit every morning.

- No longer rides in the car seat stroller. She now sits in Hayden's stroller so she can see everything.

- Still NO TEETH!! I'm surprised at this as by now both boys had at least two teeth. Maybe something will come in this month.

- Just learned to clap this week on Tuesday 11/18 and she's so adorable doing it. You can tell she's quite proud of herself too.

- Loves to take a bath and kicks those feet non-stop and waves those arms around.

- If she's unhappy about something, she's started making this "noise" which is almost a yell and a shriek combined. It definitely will get your attention when she does this.

- Is always moving. When sitting on the floor she will twirl her feet around and wiggle her hands.

- Rolling over more frequently from stomach to back. Will push up on her arms and scoot herself backwards.

- Will is still her man!! Oh does this little girl love him. She will smile and hug him when he picks her up.

- Hayden can really make her laugh and giggle which he loves. If he knows what will make her laugh, he will keep doing it over and over.

- Gives mommy and daddy kisses and hugs. Loves to hold our hands when she's sleepy and cuddle up with us.

- When she's ready to go to sleep, she'll roll over on her side and lay her head back and get all stretched out.

- When she cries I've noticed she'll go "mum...mum...mum" Close enough to mommy for me. (I so love this!!)

- The past few weeks I think we've been on a growth spurt as she feels heavier and eating more.

- Loves to jump and spin around in her exersaucer.
