Breast cancer...you hear about it often, especially this time of year when the Susan G. Komen walk is quickly approaching here in Evansville. You hear about it when you go for your annual physical, you see articles in magazines and you see numerous items which donate money to find a cure. This condition now refers to someone I love. My sister-in-law Melissa was diagnosed yesterday with breast cancer. She will have to have a double mastectomy and chemo.
My heart is heavy. At this point we all just have to wait, hope and pray.
