So Far...So Good

I've been in orientation the past two days for my new job as a Patient Services Representative. So far, it's been very good and I believe I'm going to like it. Tomorrow afternoon I actually go to the Emergency Room and spend some time in my area. I'm excited and very nervous!

Today we went on a very extensive tour of the hospital. I saw things that the general public sees but most of it was "behind the scenes" areas. Very interesting and reminded me just how much nurses and hospital staff do to help heal patients. I loved going to the 3rd. floor which is the birthing, nursery and antepartum areas. I just love seeing newborn babies. We passed the room that I had when I gave birth to Lily. I actually got a little "baby fever" but once I got home, I quickly snapped out of it!! I thought it was cute that they refer to the babies who are out of the severe NICU area and are thriving and progressing well as the "growers." They had three "growers" in that area.

Friday night I go in for my first real shift. I'm sure the next couple of weeks is going to be very interesting.

Hello Sugar Lips

The other day I was teasing Hayden by calling him different names. I called him snuggle bunny, sweetie pie, pooh bear...etc. All kinds of funny names and he would laugh and say "no...mommy...no mommy" Finally I said sugar lips. He stopped and told me he liked that.

Now, he'll be doing something and I'll say Hayden and he'll correct me and say "no...no...mommy...I sugar lips" Oh my!!

A Summer Afternoon with Lily

Here's some pictures of Lily that I took one afternoon last week. The faces she makes are just priceless and she loves to giggle and smile.

Last year at this time I had the horrible hemorrhage and thought I had lost the baby. I remember laying in bed wondering and thinking about what August 2008 would be like. Would the pregnancy continue? Was I carrying a girl or a boy? Would the baby be healthy? Would I ever feel good again as the morning/noon/night sickness was very bad at that time. I had already made one trip to the emergency room for severe vomiting and dehydration. I was so scared and worried.

Looking back now, I can say it was all worth it. We got a perfect healthy baby girl. This family wouldn't be the same without her. We love you so much little Lily.

5 Months Old

Lily turned 5 months old last week on Thursday (8/14) Time is passing quickly and it's just amazing to see how much she's changed in such a short time. Her little personality is shining through more and more.

On Monday (8/18) she rolled from her back to her belly for the first time. Once she did it, her eyes got huge and she just looked around and then went "whooooo" It was like she was saying "wow...what just happened?" She hasn't done it since but I'm sure it's going to be a routine thing in the near future.

Here's some things about her at the moment:

- Smiles all the time. If anyone smiles at her she will give them a huge big grin.

- Puts everything in her mouth and is drooling non-stop. I feel a little bump on her bottom gum so I think a tooth will be appearing very soon.

- Tries to give you a kiss. She gets so many kisses from all of us she will now try to give one back. She comes at you with her mouth open and gives you a slobbery open mouth kiss on your cheek.

- Uses her feet like hands and will rub her feet together while playing. Kicks her toys on her jungle gym. Would love to suck on her feet but her little chunky thighs get in the way.

- In a very good routine during the day regarding naps.

- Likes to squeal and make very loud sounds. At times it seems like she's upset or fussing but when you come to her she giggles and smiles.

- When everyone is talking she'll make talking noises too. She wants to join the conversation.

- When she's sleepy, she loves to be cuddled and hugs up close to you. (I love this SO much.)

- Immediately after having a dirty diaper will fuss and cry till it gets taken off.

- Loves bath time and kicks and splashes. I think I've got a future swimmer in the house.

- When outside she loves to watch the leaves on the trees blow. She is fascinated by it and just stares and stares.

- Her hair is growing!! The bald spot in the back is getting filled in. On top of her head it's getting so fuzzy. When you're holding her you can see on the sides a few little wisps of hair that's now touching the top of her ears. (Grow baby..grow!! I've got hair accessories waiting.)

- Likes Hayden a lot more. She watches everything he does and tries to kiss him too.

- She's trying very hard to be able to sit up on her own. Can sit up alone for a about 30-45 seconds. She gets upset when she falls over as she's got things to see.

- Like to play patty-cake. Giggles and laughs hysterically.

The hula outfit is the Build-A-Bear outfit for my Hello Kitty. I wanted to see if it fit her and it did. So sorry little Lily...mommy couldn't help herself. You're just so cute!!

Wow!!

With the Olympics going on, this sports crazy family has been watching tv most evenings and even setting the DVR to record what we miss.

Hayden and Will have really enjoyed the swimming and gymnastics. All day today Hayden has been jumping and flipping around plus pretending to swim. While scooting down the hallway I though he may have hurt his leg they way he was flopping around but he informed me that he was "whimming." Ok...sorry about that!

Playing Around

Hayden was playing around wearing his hat. He had all the clothes out for the animals from Build-A-Bear and found this little hat. He went and put it on Lily's head and told me to "take a pictoo." I went and got my camera and then he looked at Lily and said "Billy gurl...mile...cheese." So cute!!

I Love Egg

Hayden is in love with his egg. Yes, as funny and odd as it sounds he's decided that he loves egg and takes it everywhere with him. This little egg is from his Little Tykes kitchen. Nothing special about it but to him it's very special.

We only like to wear clothes with a pocket so egg can tag along. Usually he's in his hand but if he needs to use both hands for something, he wants to put egg in his pocket.

Egg also gets special surprises put inside. One day we had a gummy bear and on another day he had two grapes.

He also sleeps with egg. It is curled up in his hand and cuddled close to his chest.

The past few weeks egg has become an important part of his life. It makes him very happy so we welcome with open hands (and heart) egg. Welcome to the family Egg Jensen!!

Mommy's Girl

I had to upload pictures of me with my girl too. Excuse the windblown hair...if you look close at Lily you can see the litttle "flip" of hair at her crown was getting blown too.

Lost and Found

I woke up to find that Lily wasn't in her bed. I couldn't figure out where she was. While walking down the hallway, I heard her little voice coming from Will's room. Will was asleep and it looked like Lily had just woke up and was starting to coo and wiggle about. Fritz, our little yorkie-poo, was laying up at the top of the bed on a pillow, Lily and then Will curled up at the bottom.

Will said she woke up and he took her in his room with him. He always gets her to fall asleep as he gets her all snuggly and cuddles up with her.

Big brother sure does love his little sister.

New Bicycle

Will finally got a new bicycle and it is nice!! We've been looking at bikes the past couple of weeks and he finally made his decision on which bike he wanted. We purchased it at Dick's Sporting Goods and he also got a new helmet. We love it and I think he's pretty proud too.
